Hunt can fly from the middle to the pin, get closed, and put up a block that can completely change a hitter’s swing. She has gone toe-to-toe with some bigger, physical attackers this fall already and shown that she doesn’t need to match their size to shut them down. Her feet get her there, her timing puts her in position, and she’s getting better at taking away space once she arrives. Add in the ability to play middle or right side, and there is a lot to work with. Hunt’s rise in the rankings makes sense. Hunt is a newer player to jump on my radar. At the showcase, what stood out right away was how smart she is on the court. She reads the block well. Instead of trying to force the ball, she will hit around the block or will change up her shots. Her arm is quick, so the second she spots an opening in the block or an empty spot on the court, she will take advantage of it. Due to her high game IQ and her ability to score in a variety of ways, she is a pin on the rise and one to keep tabs on.

Addison Hunt played up this weekend and quickly became a fan favorite. She never backed down from competing against elite talent and continued to swing aggressively, regardless of the size of the block in front of her. What stood out most was her confidence and volleyball IQ. Rather than forcing swings, she recognized when to attack and when to use a well-placed tip to exploit gaps in the defense. Her energy was contagious, and she brought a competitive edge to every rally. Defensively, Addison consistently found ways to get quality touches on the ball, even when arriving late to the block, helping extend rallies and create opportunities for her team. In the middle, she’s running quicker tempo with improved spacing and sharper timing off the setter’s release. She stays high through contact and is finishing with stronger wrist control. When moved to the right side, her block closing speed stands out — sealing seams and taking away sharp angles.
