About Mia
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I’d describe my gameplay style as energetic, disciplined, and fearless. I might not be the tallest player on the court, but I make up for it with hustle, quick reactions, and smart decision-making. I’m aggressive on defense, consistent with my passing, and I’m always talking and staying engaged in the play. I read the court well, support my teammates, and bring intensity to every point.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I’d describe my mentality as determined, adaptable, and steady. I’ve had to walk into a lot of unfamiliar places over the last few years, so I’ve learned how to stay calm, adjust quickly, and figure things out without giving up. I’m competitive, but I’m also positive, I don’t quit when things get hard, and I don’t let setbacks define me. I’m the kind of person who works quietly, stays consistent.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I’m involved in several activities outside of volleyball. I’m an Honor Roll student, and I also served as a set designer for The Little Mermaid, which gave me a chance to use my creativity and work behind the scenes with a production team. I play basketball as a 3 guard—I'm short, but I’m a fighter, and I bring hustle and heart to every game. I also play alto sax in the school band.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Through all the changes I’ve experienced from 2023 to 2025, I’ve developed skills that go far beyond volleyball. Constantly joining new schools and new teams pushed me to become a better communicator and teammate I had to learn how to build trust quickly, read team dynamics, and find my place while still contributing right away. I’ve also grown as a leader, being professional and consistent.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
From 2023 to 2025, I attended four different schools and played for four volleyball club teams because my family was evacuated from two war zones. Each move meant stepping into a brand-new environment, new coaches, new teammates, new systems, and completely different styles of play. I’ve trained and competed in Hawaii, Italy, Israel and Bahrain.
What type of college are you looking for?
Right now, after visiting colleges with my brother from the Class of 2025, I’ve realized I’m looking for a medium-sized school in a true college-town setting. I’m not interested in an urban campus or a university with more than about 20,000 students. I want smaller class sizes, a low student-to-teacher ratio, and a community where professors actually know me and I have real access to mentors.
