MN Crossfire 16-1: Projecting Dominance

Her fast pace of play allows her to help in all situations. She knows where to go and what to do to help her team be successful. Offensively, Kola-Lawal is quick to transition of the net and be in a position to run a route. She diversifies her routes and way of attacking to make it harder for her opponents to defend. When approaching she quickly finds the ball, sees the blockers, and works around them. Defensively, Kola-Lawal moves swiftly across the net to set up in front of the opponents hitter to make a stop. She transitions off the net and forces herself to be in a position to accurately attack the ball. Her fast approach makes it hard for her opponents to set up a strong block. Huston controls her attacks, locating a variety of spots on the court and making the defense work. Defensively, Huston has a strong block the intimidates the hitter in front of her. When passing, she get to the ball early with time to angle her platform and put the ball on top of the setter. Her platform control keep the softest tips and most aggressive down balls in system for her team to make a play. When out of system, she sets up the pin hitters effortlessly allowing for a scoring play to be made. When blocking, Champeau moves quickly getting up and pressing over the net to control the ball back down for the stop. Her communication is non-stop throughout rallies and allows for her to have multiple attacking opportunities. Her float jump serve is hard for serve receivers to follow and make a successful play. In the front row, she has a big swing that stuns the defense. She swing high and hard hitting deep corners and making her opponents run for the ball. Schmidt puts up a strong block that forces the hitters around her hands and to her teammates.
