Continuing in my series of all-county selections, here are my picks for Howard County. This is a DEEP county. Honorable Mentions here could be First Team players other places.

First Team:

[player_tooltip player_id='698761' first='Imagine' last='Peltier'] - S - Howard. Ummmm, duh. I don't know if you saw Howard run the table undefeated and win the state title this year, but I did, and Imagine is a major part of that. The kid is fantastic honestly. She's well balanced as a setter, can do everything you need one to do with consistency. She's a beast, and is going to be one to watch in the NCAA as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='529251' first='Jessica' last='Li'] - S - Glenelg. The [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] setter had a great year at Glenelg and was high in the state statistically for setters. Running a 5-1 with a deep supporting cast, they used all their pieces to bring home a state title.

[player_tooltip player_id='374421' first='Miranda' last='Ball'] - DS - Howard. Miranda has been a mainstay for Howard over the years, and one of the best in the business on the back line. She had to earn it to win the state title this year, playing [player_tooltip player_id='303701' first='Caydence' last='Doolan'] in the finals is no small task for a DS.

[player_tooltip player_id='506629' first='Dylann' last='Loggins'] - MB - Howard. Yes, another Howard player on first team, when you go undefeated and win the state title, that will happen. Especially with talented players like Dylann who will be playing D1 next year to show off her blend of offense and defense in the middle.

[player_tooltip player_id='346816' first='Avery' last='Hubbard'] - Pin - Glenelg. One of the very talented cast that won states, she's an outstanding pin that got consideration for player of the year.

[player_tooltip player_id='835938' first='Mckenna' last='Brown'] - Pin - Howard. Another standout Howard player, Mckenna is one of the offensive leaders for the team. She plays club for powerhouse [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''], with quite a few of her Howard teammates, and is generally the one you expect to see when Howard needed a big kill.

Isard Bernandes - Pin - Glenelg. She is another one of those players that may start out DS/L younger, and transition to hitting front row later in their career, they are usually the ones that become the standout all around 6 position players. She was the focal point of the offense for Glenelg winning the title this year, and is an excellent all around player.

[player_tooltip player_id='577516' first='Mariska' last='Ordonez'] - Pin - Howard. Yes there's a trend on the first team in Howard County. Another star player from the state champions on the first team. Mariska has more flexibility than a lot of pins, can play OH, RS, play all around. She was the swiss army knife that could and would do anything the team needed to stay in and win the game.

Second Team:

Katie Brown - S - Atholton. It may seem dominated by Glenelg and Howard so far, but Atholton had their own stash of players on these lists, and the great hitters they had couldn't do their job without a good setter laying the way for them.

[player_tooltip player_id='625574' first='Ashley' last='Nguyen'] - S - Resevoir. Resevoir was one of the best HS in Howard county last year, but it largely slid under the radar to some of the bigger stories, and loaded star teams. Ashley is a great setter, and while some like to ding 6-2 setters because they only play half of the game, I like to give them the credit they deserve in their half of the game. I'm going to judge them on what they do while out there, not what the team decides to do in the other half. On that basis, she deserves to be here.

[player_tooltip player_id='588468' first='Bella' last='Chen'] - DS - Glenelg. More Glenelg players, obviously, but Bella is a fantastic young DS and deserves all county recognition, winning states this year, and now playing for a talented [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] team.

[player_tooltip player_id='755672' first='Jaylin' last='Park'] - DS - Resevoir. I talked about this being a good team that was overlooked, and much like that Jaylin is one of those players. She plays on an absolutely stacked Metro team during club, and is one of the better DS in the area.

Noya Offerum - MB - River Hill. River Hill is one of those teams that is great together, but the players don't get a ton of individual recognition. Noya is going to change that. She's developed a ton in the past two years, and is an offensive force as a slightly undersized middle. Playing for Metro National this season, she's going to get the attention she deserves.

[player_tooltip player_id='763123' first='Carly' last='Tillman'] - Pin - Atholton. This is where those hitters for Atholton start coming into play. One thing I learned doing this list is that Howard is stacked at the pin. I could make solid arguments for some of the Honorable Mentions to be First Team in some places. Carly is a big time hitter, and putting her on 2nd team was hard for me, but there are only so many spots and really 8 players that deserve it. I should just call it First Team A and B.

[player_tooltip player_id='829552' first='Anna' last='Fiedler'] - Pin - Howard. The future. One of the young guns in the county, she's going to be a star the next couple years, and will help keep Howard in the running next year despite losing so much star power, just remember the name, you'll know it next year.

[player_tooltip player_id='325601' first='Sydnee' last='Peters'] - Pin - Centennial. Super athletic pin with a great vertical. She came from a loaded Atholton team this year, and with a slightly larger supporting class you would have heard a lot more about her. I saw her mid season and she's in the mold of touch 10 feet vert, hit 10 foot line with shot kinda pin.

[player_tooltip player_id='787533' first='Chika' last='Onukwugha'] - Pin - Guilford Park. If she had a supporting cast at GP, she would be an absolute terror. Plays for Metro on their very talented Travel team, and is an absolute monster hitter. With a new school such as GP it's hard to build a support system, but they are in that deep talent pocket near Maryland Juniors, so they may have some backup on the way soon. One of the younger stars in the county.

Honorable Mention:

[player_tooltip player_id='763128' first='Lillian' last='Sanchez'] - S - Resevoir.

Rinah Wightman - S - River Hill

[player_tooltip player_id='753439' first='Joelle' last='Vassor'] - DS - Howard

Hailey Wang - DS - Centennial

[player_tooltip player_id='572040' first='Morgan' last='Vanderwagen'] - MB - Atholton

Aran Bernandes - Pin - Glenelg

[player_tooltip player_id='612397' first='Eliana' last='Koram'] - MB/Pin - Atholton

[player_tooltip player_id='612399' first='Riley' last='Ko'] - Pin - Resevoir

Kristin Ama - Pin - River Hill
