The Lexington Open Talent Wrap Up

We are closing out this series of articles with our final feature of athletes but by no means are they any less talented! Kentucky provides a deep well of talent to draw from with successful programs with deep roots that are the pipeline for colleges and other programs. With the huge uptake in women's volleyball, it is crucial to show up and show out and be seen and PrepDig is the place for that! Here are our top prospects from the Lexington Open this past weekend in Kentucky!    Taylor has made her return to Lex United an impressive one! She shows a tremendous amount of drive on the court to match her skill. She moves quickly on the court to make perfect clean accurate sets to either pin with fast hands and excellent body stance, she utilizes her middles well to add points to the scoreboard showing a good rapport and keeps the opposition guessing to her game. With superb court IQ she runs the court like a well oiled machine making excellent decisions and allowing her team to rack up wins, and that's just what they did capturing the Lexington Open Championship! Taylor is a crafty setter who can put in a quick one handed play with forward or backward motion to catch the opponents off guard and she can swing with good strength and technique making her so versatile on the court. She can dig from the back row and soften up hard hits, keeping the ball playable, out of system balls don't faze her. She oozes talent and drive, can't say enough good things about her!     Evie (pictured) is a solid player, she has a tool box full of skills and she goes all out on the court to use them! We saw excellent play on the front line getting balls up from the net with perfect execution, covering her teammates well with a ready stance, moving quickly and with proper footwork to move and down the net, excellent technique and timing in her superb block with a fantastic vertical, a super reach and plentiful touches as well. She follows the play well displaying an intuitive feel for the play and puts herself in the right position. She is an enthusiastic player and supports her teammates well, loved, loved, loved her play!     Erin has stepped into the role of MB for Lex United's top 16 team beautifully. She has a good court IQ to match her exceptional blocking and hitting skills. She is a strong player that provides excellent cover of the front line, she has a great timing and displays a super nice swing with a beautiful downward trajectory getting on top of the ball with excellent contact placing the ball in the seams and racking up points. She communicates well on the court with the setter and plays a nice fake drawing in the opponents. She shows excellent enthusiasm supporting her teammates on and off the court. You will hear her name a lot this season, no doubt!     [player_tooltip player_id='742495' first='Lily' last='Lowery'] is a game changer, she gives 110% every appearance! She strives for perfection and hones those skills and it is apparent on the court! Lily accurately passes to either pin with an impressive backset showing proper technique and control. She makes good decisions, will make crafty smart sets to fool the opposition taking not of the block mentally, and runs a fluid court incorporating all players. She plays a full rotation and can dig with the best of them turning out of system plays into points. She has incredible court IQ and is fast to adapt to make big plays on the court with quick feet and actions. She can take a healthy swing and can play tight ball from the net. She shows tremendous energy and great leadership for a young player! Top prospect!     Posey can fly under the radar but she has an extreme amount of talent and fortitude. She has beautiful hands that can float a set accurately to anywhere on the court looking effortless. An all around rotation player she is fast on the court with good court IQ, she can dig giving 110% and has a hefty strong swing with a good vertical and can place a nice cross court shot! She is pure energy on the court with a big drive. We love her enthusiasm and look forward to seeing more of her this season!
