The 18 Open division at the Lone Star Classic lived up to its reputation as one of the most competitive brackets of the weekend. With several nationally proven programs in them, every round brought high-level volleyball and physical matchups across the net. As the frost from the winter storm settled in, Dallas Skyline 18 Royal emerged as the champion, capturing first place in the division filled with elite talent and deep rosters. Skyline's consistency through bracket play combined with their ability to win key moments late in sets, made the difference as they finished the weekend on top and earning their bid for nationals.

https://www.instagram.com/p/DT_PqWQD8SK/?igsh=MXhkYW81bDY4MjBmZw==

Open Division Final Standings:

1st Place: Dallas Skyline 18 Royal - Earned Bid

2nd Place: [program_tooltip program_id='510661' first='Houston' last='Skyline'] 18 Royal - Earned Bid

3rd Place: Club PA 18 Benson - Earned Bid

Each of these teams showed why they remain among the top contenders heading into the national championship stretch of the season and all earning their bids very early in the season.

The Open Division wasn't just defined by the final standings — it was shaped by the athletes who consistently rose to the moment against top-tier competition. From steady back-row leaders to dynamic front-court playmakers, these players helped set the tone for their teams throughout a demanding weekend in Dallas.

Coy was one of the most complete outside hitters in the Open Division throughout the weekend. She brings a strong, powerful arm swing that allows her to score consistently against well-formed blocks, but what stood out most was her ability to mix in smart ball placement with aggressive offense. Coy played with control in all six rotations, showing poise in serve receive while still being a go-to attacker in key moments. Her combination of physicality and court awareness made her a standout performer.

Seay proved to be a high-impact pin presence against elite Open Division competition. She plays with confidence and competitiveness, consistently finding ways to contribute both offensively and in transition. Seay showed the ability to score under pressure, using range and timing to terminate from the outside. Her energy and steady play helped set the tone for her team throughout bracket play, especially in tight late-set situations.

Reeves brought a high level of back-row discipline and consistency all weekend. She anchored serve receive with composure and delivered key defensive plays in long rallies against top opponents. Reeves reads the game well and plays with an edge, making her a reliable presence in pressure moments. Her ability to keep rallies alive and control first contact was a major piece of her team's success in Open.

Blakley was one of the most explosive athletes in the division, showcasing an extremely high and impressive vertical that immediately stood out. She made highlight-level plays throughout the weekend, including one standout swing from the right side that she drove straight down onto the five-foot line — a moment that captured the physicality she brings to the court. Blakley's ability to play above the net and terminate in big moments made her a constant offensive threat and one of the most dynamic right-side attackers in the Open bracket.

The Open Division once again proved why Lone Star Classic is a major national marker. With Skyline leading the way and multiple programs finishing strong behind them, this division featured some of the best volleyball of the weekend.
