Who stood out at the Tour of Texas Dallas Stop? All of the courts were littered with talented squads battling it out to see who was the best of the best in the Lone Star State. Prep Dig was there in person with two scouts and we saw some amazing play in three age groups. Let's take a look at who earned our Top Performer award for this tourney?

Miss Nunez may measure in at 5'9", but she refuses to let size define her impact on the court. Currently ranked No. 108 in the 2027 class, she showed at the Tour of Texas Dallas Stop that she is trending upward and due for a bump in the next update. What immediately jumps out is her speed as she is dynamic in transition and explosive on her approach, getting off the floor quickly and attacking with confidence. She swings aggressively and without hesitation, regardless of the size of the block in front of her. That fearlessness makes her a tough matchup because she never backs down from big moments. In the back row, she defends like a libero, showing strong ball control and a willingness to lay out to keep rallies alive. Her serve-receive platform is steady, and she does a great job delivering hittable balls to her setter to keep the offense in rhythm. Teammates clearly trust her in every rotation, and that trust is earned through consistent effort and competitive fire. Mia plays the game with relentless energy and she does not take points off and simply doesn't know how to give up on a rally. She leads through example and intensity, and programs at the next level looking for grit, production, and culture impact should absolutely keep her on their radar.

Miss Tello plays a game that is so much fun to watch. Currently competing up an age group, she holds her own against older, more physically mature athletes and that speaks volumes about her skill level and confidence. This isn't new territory for her either, as she has consistently chosen to play up over the years, challenging herself against stronger competition rather than staying comfortable. From a coach's perspective, that mindset alone tells you a lot about her drive and long-term ceiling. Technically, Jenna is very clean in serve receive, presenting a steady platform and absorbing pace with control. She reads hitters well and positions herself early, which allows her to defend with purpose rather than just react. Her lateral quickness and first step explosiveness help her cover ground efficiently, especially in scramble situations. She doesn't just keep balls alive, she delivers quality first contacts that allow her team to stay in system. There's a calm edge to the way she plays, and despite her youth, she competes with maturity beyond her class. As she continues to get stronger physically, her already polished defensive instincts make her a name to watch in the 2028 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='534412' first='Kharley' last='Smith'] is one of those players whose growth curve jumps off the page when you see her compete live. Currently ranked No. 110 in the 2027 class by Prep Dig Texas, that number may not reflect where she's trending after her recent tournament showing. At 5'11", she plays much bigger than her listed height, elevating quickly and contacting the ball high with heavy pace off her arm. Her leaping ability allows her to challenge longer blockers and still score cleanly, particularly when she's isolated on the right pin. What separates her is her aggressive scorer's mentality as she wants the ball and doesn't hesitate when the moment calls for a big swing. At the net defensively, she competes hard against opposing left sides, pressing over well and battling with strong hands. Kharley carries herself with visible confidence and clearly understands her role within the system. She is explosive in every sense of the word from her approach to her block moves and that burst shows up consistently throughout her play. As she continues refining her shot selection and expanding her offensive range, her ceiling as a physical right-side attacker looks very promising.

Stay tuned as we will have some awesome articles covering as many awesome players and teams as we can from this tournament. If you have anyone you think we should watch out for, please shoot me an email with some info at Michael@prepdig.com. Also don't forget to help these kids get more exposure by sharing our stories with your friends. Help us help them by simply reposting on X or Instagram or sharing on Facebook. Thanks for following Prep Dig Family!
