Prep Dig Texas was at [program_tooltip program_id='538544' first='Katy' last='United'] on Sunday morning, following the matches in Pools 1, 2 and 3 in the 18s Division. It's now time to feature the players who stood out during the day, and the liberos are the talk of the day:

Hertel was the libero of the [program_tooltip program_id='510661' first='Houston' last='Skyline'] 17 Black team that topped the event's standings with an undefeated campaign of four wins. Very quick and technical, she was extremely consistent on the back row for her team. Hertel was very reliable in serve-receive and produced many transition plays for her team, sliding from behind the block on the last second to get to the ball and showing excellent technique to control hard-driven swings. The libero was very accurate with her transition sets, either using her hands or her arms, and also had some nice serving runs.

Hernandez was with the Katy Stars 18 Elite side that ended up in second place with three wins and a loss. Very consistent and productive, she led the team on the back row with her efficient game. Hernandez was very good with her passing, covering a lot of ground and making the right moves to get to the ball and have the correct body shape to send it to her setter. The libero managed to stay calm in moments of pressure and provided great stability to her team.

Buie and her AVA TX 17 Adiads teammates ended the event in sixth place after getting two wins and two losses. A defensive specialist, she significantly improved the team's passing when she replaced one of their pin hitters on the back row. Buie did a good job of splitting the court with the team's libero and used her quickness to get to the ball to cover her zone with a high level of efficiency. She also performed well on defense and managed to recover some shanked passes and digs that went off the court.

Schultz was part of the Texas One - 17 Royal team that took eighth place with a campaign of two wins and two losses. She made a strong impression with her highly efficient game, being one of the team's standouts during the day. Schultz was very reliable in serve-receive, going for the ball with confidence and using the angles extremely well to handle tough serves with accuracy. Schultz demonstrated great attention to detail, always making sure her body was in the right position and her technique was right before making contact with the ball.
