It's one of the biggest tournaments of the season for a lot of reasons. The Mid-East Qualifier brings in the talent from every corner of the country. From the midwest to the south, to Texas and the PNW, we had representatives from just about everywhere you could imagine. All on the hunt for their bid to return back to the Circle City this summer.

Not only does MEQ bring the heat in terms of talent, but its the half way mark of the regular season in the club season. Qualifier season is nearing its end and we're just 6 weeks away from the quiet period that May brings. From there, its the almighty race for national championships in June and July. We're seeing teams hit their stride and playing some of their best volleyball yet.

The 16 Open continues to be a division on the rise. All eyes are on the ladies of A5. Even without their star ace on the court, this team is dominating the field. Alongside them MN Select came out of the woodworks to prove themselves a viable player in 16 Open. Circle City and Premier Nebraska also had huge weekends, rounding out the final four teams and earning their bids back to Indianapolis in July.

There is a LOT of volleyball to break down here from the 2026 Mid-East Qualifier, let's take a look at more Hot Shots of the tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='787563' first='Reagan' last='Edwards'] - [program_tooltip program_id='430155' first='Team' last='Pineapple']

I had the opportunity to see what [player_tooltip player_id='787563' first='Reagan' last='Edwards'] was cooking up for the club season back in November. While Iliked what I saw from her then, I am LOVING what I am seeing her do now. Edwards is such a powerful presence on the right side for multiple reasons. If she's not killing you on her attack, she's not letting you get past her block! This is an opposite that is going to be a hot commodity come a few months when the recruiting floodgates open, I am sure of it!

[player_tooltip player_id='839951' first='Lyla' last='Tindall'] - [program_tooltip program_id='430155' first='Team' last='Pineapple']

When the name Tindall comes across the desk, you just know you're getting a player with a live wire arm and a great sense of the overall game. [player_tooltip player_id='839951' first='Lyla' last='Tindall'] brings all of that and more to the court. While a touch on the undersized side, when Tindall gets into her groove, all of that concern goes away. She boasts a wide array of shots and has a great vision for the block to tool time and time again.

[player_tooltip player_id='807856' first='Audrey' last='Utterback'] - Circle City

Speaking of some names that you just know you're getting some good volleyball with, the Utterback name is an automatic. [player_tooltip player_id='807856' first='Audrey' last='Utterback'] comes from a long line of volleyball excellence and is looking to be paving her own path. Another undersized dandy that just rips at the ball, Audrey was turning things up in Indy. She's so skilled in all aspects of the game, it's almost like having two liberos on the court at all times while also having an automatic scorer as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='746389' first='Stella' last='Hamood'] - Circle City

Alongside Utterback for Circle City, [player_tooltip player_id='746389' first='Stella' last='Hamood'] heads up one insane back line. If you so happen to get past Circle City's block, I am not certain you'll be able to score with this one on defense. Hamood can cover such a vast amount of court space and she makes it look so easy. Whether she's passing three point passes or diming the hardest of swings, Hamood is one tough libero.

Jocelyn Walburn - [program_tooltip program_id='430155' first='Team' last='Pineapple']

Right along the conversation of top notch liberos, Jocelyn Walburn is another one! One of the most underrated positions on the court, Walburn proves her worth time and time again. When the play starts from her pass or her dig, it was seemingly an automatic point for Pineapple. She has an ability to better the ball in the hardest of situations and yet, keep things look so smooth and controlled.

[player_tooltip player_id='575131' first='Jordyn' last='Blair'] - Circle City

I was a big fan of this one during her Munciana days and I was curious to see what she would look like with Circle City. Needless to say, not much has changed. [player_tooltip player_id='575131' first='Jordyn' last='Blair'] owns the net and she is bringing quite the raucous when she is fed the ball. This is one of Circle's biggest go-to options for good reason. Blair finds herself towering over the opposing block and was picking off some gnarly angles to score in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='822302' first='Arielle' last='Stephens'] - [program_tooltip program_id='430155' first='Team' last='Pineapple']

[program_tooltip program_id='430155' first='Team' last='Pineapple'] has themselves a dandy in the middle, too, and its [player_tooltip player_id='822302' first='Arielle' last='Stephens']. Alongside her blocking partner, Edwards, I got to get a sneak peak of what Stephens was about to do in the club season back in November. The two were some of my favorites from the Indianapolis Expo. Fast forward to MEQ, Stephens was one of my favorite middles in the field. She can score in a variety of ways and has such a stout touch up at the net at a blocker. Her presence on the court takes this Pineapple squad to another level.
