I made a point this season to get out and see more of the 15U field. Since I don't typically start tracking these athletes until their freshman year, it gives me a valuable early look at players I'll likely be writing about over the next few seasons. This stop took me to Kansas City, Kansas, to catch a strong group in the 15s division.

Before getting into the player notes, a quick reset for the adults in the gym. I had just watched a high-level, competitive match between 573 Missouri Jrs. and Alpha Omega—a tight 26-24, 25-21 win for Jrs.—when things took a turn that shouldn't happen at any level. Parents, regardless of the scoreline or emotion of the moment, there is never a place for confronting officials. I watched it happen, stepped in to separate, fell, and helped escort the parent out. Not exactly how anyone wants to spend a Sunday, bruised and bloody. This is club volleyball—high intensity, yes, but still developmental. Officials aren't perfect, but nothing I saw warranted that kind of reaction. Reset, support your athlete, and move on to the next match. That parent didn't get that opportunity.

Now, to the part that actually matters, the players who stood out.

[player_tooltip player_id='934812' first='Claire' last='Kempker'] – S – 573 Missouri Jrs. 15-1
Kempker runs a clean offense. She's composed, never looks sped up, and consistently delivers hittable balls. Her tempo and location to pins and middles were among the best I saw all day.

[player_tooltip player_id='891692' first='Hannah' last='Lackman'] – OH – 573 Missouri Jrs. 15-1
A true go-to pin. Lackman repeatedly tooled the deep line in big moments and showed she wants the ball when it matters. Competitive edge and point-scoring mentality.

Kindle Himes – L – 573 Missouri Jrs. 15-1
Gritty, relentless defender. Himes finds a way to get touches and extend rallies, bringing a high-motor presence in serve receive, and transition defense.

Jalee Morton – MB – Alpha Omega 15-1
Morton's athleticism pops immediately. She's quick in transition, closes well at the net, and showed a nice balance of [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] and touch offensively while being active defensively.

Navaeh Coleman – OH – [program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last=''] 15-4
Coleman showed versatility with swings from the left pin and back row. Solid offensive toolkit with flashes in serve receive—an area that could elevate her ceiling even more.

Jada White – OH – Mavs KC 15-2
Six-rotation contributor who was steady on both sides of the 10-foot line. Reliable in the backcourt and effective in transition, giving her team balance.

Mary Kate Johnson – L – [program_tooltip program_id='430200' first='KC' last='[program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last='']'] 15-2
One of the more polished defensive performances of the day. Johnson's first step and lateral range allowed her to consistently get platform to ball, and she wasn't afraid to square up hard-driven attacks.

[player_tooltip player_id='895664' first='Rissie' last='Evans'] – S/OH – Mavs 15-2
Versatile piece who impacted the match as both a setter and attacker. Showed strong decision-making as a distributor and the ability to terminate when given opportunities.

Kathryn Berendzen – MB – Alpha Omega 15-1
High volleyball IQ in the middle. Berendzen showed good awareness with shot selection and did the work to stay available in transition, getting off the net and presenting a target.

Rylee Neff – OH – [program_tooltip program_id='430200' first='KC' last='[program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last='']'] 15-2
Consistent point producer from the pin. Neff found ways to score in multiple situations and played a key role in [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last='']'s championship run.

Reagan Varns – OH – [program_tooltip program_id='428892' first='PVA' last=''] 15-2
Varns mixed her shots well and was a steady offensive option in [program_tooltip program_id='428892' first='PVA' last='']'s third-place finish. Smart swings and good court vision.

Chloe Bakker – S – 816 Mavs 15-1
Bakker stood out late in the day with her command of the offense. Poised, efficient, and did a nice job distributing in-system and out of system.

Kaylynn Beerbaur – OH – Invasion 15-1
High-volume outside who handled a heavy workload and still found ways to terminate. Consistent production across rotations.

Lane McCarville – S – [program_tooltip program_id='430200' first='KC' last='[program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last='']'] 15-3
Another setter who impressed with decision-making and placement. Showed a strong connection with her middles and ran a balanced offense.

Caroline Pope – MB – [program_tooltip program_id='430200' first='KC' last='[program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last='']'] 15-3
Benefited from a strong setter connection and capitalized. Pope was effective in finishing balls in rhythm and showed good timing on her approaches.

[player_tooltip player_id='762943' first='Brylee' last='Atkins'] – OH – [program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last=''] 15-2
Closed out my watch with a strong showing. Atkins delivered repeatedly in the Mavs 816 match, showing confidence and the ability to produce in key stretches.
