Miss Burns plays with an athleticism and explosiveness at the net that creates real problems for opposing offenses and her willingness to compete on both sides of the ball makes her more than just a one-way front row piece. Her footwork and lateral movement through the system are advanced for her class, and the way she stays engaged and active across all six rotations rather than checking out in the back row tells you the volleyball IQ and the competitive drive are both genuinely present. She has developed her game in an athletic culture at La Vega that has produced state championships across multiple sports and demands a standard of preparation and effort that carries over directly to the volleyball court. Damice is a middle blocker from the Waco market who deserves a much wider recruiting audience and college programs that get out to see her will be glad they made the trip.
