You can see the difference in how they move, how they read the game, and how they handle the speed of play. Things that used to look rushed are starting to look controlled. That is what makes this summer so important. This is where players either stay in that “flash” category or start stacking consistent reps against stronger competition. The athletes in this group have already shown signs of growth, and now it becomes about how far they can push it when the level rises. This is the stretch where players start separating themselves.

Let's take a look at who we are tracking this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='772137' first='Reese' last='Venenga'] is starting to separate because of how advanced her swing decisions are becoming. She is not just attacking, she is working the block. You see her press high hands, cut the ball into seams, and stay aggressive even when she is off-balance. What really stands out is how she reloads in transition. She does not take a swing and drift. She gets right back into the play and stays a scoring option. That repeat pressure is what makes her tough to defend.

~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='895713' first='Tevan' last='Hanson'] brings a steady six-rotation presence that coaches value. Her first contact keeps her in system, but what is elevating her is how she is turning defense into offense. She is starting to take better swings out of system, keeping the ball high, and making smart choices instead of forcing. You can see her getting more comfortable carrying a load without breaking rhythm, and that balance is what keeps her effective.

~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='795527' first='Keira' last='Steger'] controls the back row with discipline. She is not chasing the ball, she is beating it to the spot. Her platform stays clean, her angles are consistent, and she delivers passes that allow the offense to run. What separates her is how early she reads hitters. She is already in position before contact, which is why she looks so calm when the pace picks up. That level of control in first contact stands out immediately.

~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='913695' first='Lizzie' last='Peterson'] is starting to turn into a pin who can create points instead of just finishing them. Her arm speed is there, but the growth is in how she is using it. She is recognizing the block, adjusting mid-swing, and finding ways to stay efficient. You can see her confidence growing when rallies extend. She is staying available and taking better swings under pressure, which is where real separation starts to happen.

~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='911923' first='Harper' last='Narloch'] plays with a physical edge that shows up every rally. She is not easing into swings. She is attacking with intent and forcing the block to respond. Her arm speed and willingness to challenge hands makes her a tough matchup, especially when she is in rhythm. She is the type that can shift momentum with a few aggressive swings, and that kind of presence is hard to teach.

~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='882490' first='Ellery' last='Ames'] is starting to impact the match on both sides of the ball, and that is where her growth is showing. She is getting off the floor quicker, running cleaner tempo, and staying available in transition. At the net, she is closing space instead of reacting late, which is starting to take away angles. Middles who can be active in transition and disciplined with their block start to control the flow, and Ellery is moving in that direction.

~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='777471' first='Ada' last='Olson'] brings size, but what is starting to stand out is how she is learning to use it. Her blocking timing is improving, and she is beginning to press over the net instead of just meeting the ball. Offensively, she is gaining confidence attacking quick tempo and staying aggressive in transition. As those two pieces come together, she becomes a much bigger factor at the net.

~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='725514' first='Vanessa' last='Borr'] is showing signs of becoming a true scoring option. Her contact is getting cleaner, and she is starting to drive the ball with purpose instead of just getting it over. What stands out is her willingness to stay aggressive, even when the set is not perfect. As she continues to refine her shot selection and consistency, she has the tools to become a go-to pin that can generate points when the system breaks down.

~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

In Case You Missed It
