Minnesota Class 3A: A Deep Pool of Talent

This is a loaded section with plenty of tough competitors. The level of talent across it should make it a highly competitive year. Her athleticism and strong vertical allow her to score from either pin or on the bic. Not only is she versatile in where she hit but also how she hits. She just always seems to find a way to generate a kill, whether it be from swinging over the block or using defenders' hands to her advantage. She's just as effective on the defensive side, setting the block in just the right spot and pressing effectively over. One of the things I like most about Thooft is that she is highly effective on both sides of the ball, being not only a highly effective offensive threat but also a reliable passing and defensive player. Clearly always thinking one step ahead, she does a great job reading the defense and finding the best matchup for her hitters. Her numbers show that success as last year she had 747 assists, 274 digs, and 133 kills. She covers a ton of ground in the back row and seems like she is always in the right spot which makes her a tough player to score on. Last season she put up 418 digs, along with 27 aces and 62 assists. While her age is young, she is already a veteran on the court as this will be her fourth year on varsity. In addition to the years of experience on varsity, she has also spent multiple seasons competing in club for Southwest MN Volleyball, which has helped her develop a strong all around game as a 6 rotation outside. Guetter competes with a lot of poise and isn't afraid of big moments. Expect her to be tough for opponents to handle this year as she leads her Wabasso team in section 3A.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
