Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Why not Platteview? The Trojans were a head-turning bunch at last year’s tournament and have the pieces to make another run in 2024. That optimism starts with Plueger, a Midland commit who can score from anywhere along the net. She has churned out two consecutive seasons with three kills per set and is improving her hitting percentages, too. Plueger’s takeover potential has us anxious to watch her final fall outing.

Plueger is on a year-long hot streak. She arrived on the showcase circuit and dominated at the net in team drills. The 2023 fall season offered a new peak as Plueger helped Platteview High School reach the state tournament. This Class of 2025 attacker keeps racking up accolades with Banzai VBC, and 17 Select is heading to Nationals after a breakout WCQ performance. We may have considered Plueger an under-the-radar prospect when she participated at our showcase, but she’s a well-known commodity now.

Platteview used a full team effort to make its postseason return, but we can’t leave out Plueger’s meteoric rise to help out the offense. The junior outside hitter became a true six-rotation threat this year who was a positive influence beyond her efficient scoring. Plueger’s development this year is a reminder that any small-town gems can rise up and seize a moment in the spotlight–and this talented attacker is not done yet.

Platteview knows all about impactful attackers. Plueger has been on a tear for the Trojans ever since last year, when she put up about three kills per set as an underclassman. She has maintained the same clip in 2023 and has upped her efficiency in doing so. This Nebraska Elite product will never waver.

It’s been a while since we’ve checked in on Plueger, but her performance at AAU Nationals certainly warrants a look. This Platteview pin hitter has been a standout at our Prep Dig Showcases in addition to her dominance with Nebraska Elite 16 Koa. Right-side hitter is her primary position on the club side, and Plueger was an absolute force on that pin in Orlando.

Speaking of opposites, let’s return to the right pin to address Plueger’s emergence with Nebraska Elite 16 Koa. It’s hard to miss Plueger’s quick arm and effortless elevation when she rotates into the frontcourt. This athleticism changes the dynamic of a match when she’s along the net. Such a development has warranted a big boost for the Platteview prep star, and the best may be yet to come with the Trojans.
