I’m finding that I’m an initially mediocre evaluator of defenders, and Addie is a HUGE miss on my part. Miss Doak is a left back queen that takes the hardest shots from the best attackers and asks for more. Her calm platform in the face of a hard-driven ball is already ahead of most on this list, and her ability to chase down off-speed and potentially tooled shots is second to none. I like how she gets stopped before her opponents contact their attack, allowing her to make a secondary movement if needed to explode to the ball. Nearly every contact of hers, whether it’s in serve receive, free ball passing or hard-driven attacks, hits the setter in her hands and on target. That number under her profile picture is about to go WAY up on the next update, and all because of her exceptional play and abilities.

Moving a mile a minute and constantly ready to take every ball within ten feet of her, Addie is an excpetional example of how a libero should play. Constant communication and always locked in defensively, Miss Doak is regularly around the first ball. Most likely becoming the libero on Boiler Juniors’ 16-1 (Gold) squad, I am really interested in seeing how an open-level schedule suits her.

Doak was the only sophomore DS on her Hamilton Heights varsity team (that went 25-5) who saw consistent playing time this past season and it’s easy to see why. She has a really solid passing platform and is calm and collected in serve receive. All defenders need to be constantly dialed in and focused, ready to react, and Addie certainly is. Couple that with an innate sense of hustle and excitement at all times and you have yourself a solid libero in the making with Doak. Lastly, out of all the DS’s Addie seemed to be one of the most comfortable with using her hands on defense and with out of system setting – this class of ’27 DS is a baller in the making!
