About Piper

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very energetic player who has great intuition. I love being In the moment of the game, reacting quickly and communicating with my teammates. I am a very resilient player, I never let mistakes dwell on me for long, next ball mentality. I give all out effort for every rally and I enjoy staying engaged in defense and all around.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Habitat for Humanity’s SDA(students demand action) Shafer Leadership Academy Muncie Community Services Summer Burris Volleyball Camp

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed strong teamwork and communication skills through volleyball. We all work together to reach the same goal, this has taught me to stay positive and to work hard even in high pressure situations. I have built a strong work ethic and hustle. Working with my peers for Habitat has taught me to listen and learn effectively as well as staying flexible.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have faced challenges in volleyball through staying strong in high pressure moments. Mistakes don’t define me and I have learned over time how to quickly reset and move onto the the next point. One mistake does not impact the rest of my performance. While being a volunteer at Habitat has taught me to stay patient in unfamiliar and physically challenging situations. I have learned adaptability.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would like a college that would both benefit my academic and athletic career. While also providing me a good opportunity for friendships and learning opportunities. I would love to grow as a person and an athlete while being able to pursue my passions.
