of Iowa Premier 16-1 has put together quite a year. She led Humboldt High School to a Class 4A runner up finish and has been running the show for Premier on the 16 Open courts. What I am most impressed with is what she does when the ball is away from the net. She could be 15-20 feet off the net and she’s going to find a way to get her hands on the ball. She’s also not afraid to set the middle if she is pulled off to the ten foot line. She sets a great tempo to the outside as well. There are so many positive intangibles that are positive about her game. She connects with her teammates, she knows how to play in big moments, and seems like the type of player that others enjoy playing alongside.

I first scouted Waldorf during last year’s Iowa Regional Qualifier when she guided Premier to the title in dominant fashion. It didn’t take long to realize the potential was through the roof. I saw her at the Prep Dig Sizzle in August and again when she was leading underdog Humboldt to the Class 3A state title match. Waldorf has continued that climb toward her sizable ceiling. I hadn’t caught Premier yet in 2026, so it was worth searching for video of her progress. We can witness that when watching a early-season highlight video recently posted. Waldorf should make sure she’s ready for plenty of calls from colleges in June. She’s smooth moving around the court, delivering crisp sets when the passes are precise or when chasing them down. Her back and middle sets have improved dramatically in the last year. Waldorf is tall with long arms, aiding her when ending points or blocking the opposing attack. Serve receive and back-row defense also are trending up.

has been a proven winner. This fall she led her Humboldt Wildcats to a Class 3A runner up finish that included an upset over top ranked Western Christian in the semifinals. As a setter, her range is extremely impressive. She can be on one sideline and push it to the opposite sideline on a dime. With her footwork and IQ, she gets her hands on everything, she receives the ball high and remains neutral where the defense is always guessing. She is also a physical presence at the net with her block and defends her position well. She will be back for Iowa Premier 16s this season where there will be plenty of eyes on their court with all of their talent.

Waldorf served notice of her arrival as a freshman last season. She’s taken that performance to another level in 2025. Waldorf produced 538 assists, 49 kills (.364), 99 digs and 16.0 blocks through her team’s first 62 sets. Waldorf has worked hard on the foundation of her responsibilities. She gets to her spots quicker and has become more accurate with putting the ball where it needs to be. An improved diagnoses of defenses has her more consistently feeding the attacker in the most advantageous position. Waldorf also has improved other aspects of her game, including defense in the front and back rows.
