I didn’t get a chance to see Alena Schaack Alena Schaack 5'10" | MB/OH Woodward-Granger | 2028 State IA play live this high school season, so seeing her get on the court for Iowa Premier 16-1 was exciting.  There is a dynamic style of play she brings to the middle blocker position.  She is a quick leaper, electric from pin to pin with her block, and is able to transition to connect with setter Addison Waldorf Addison Waldorf 5'11" | S Humboldt | 2028 State IA .  She is a tough matchup for the other side of the net where she can spread the defense thin with her ability to score from various spots in the front line.

I was very impressed with Schaack’s game in seeing several of her matches during the 2025 Iowa Regional Qualifier. She’s an athletic middle with explosion off the floor, a good vertical with hang-time and a powerful right arm. Schaack plays within herself, taking advantage of what the opponent gives her. She shines in the middle for this talented squad, but her agility and dexterity would work outside. Schaacks long arms and timing help her defend the net. She’s one to watch heading into the 2025 high school season.
