About Alexis

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I make smart, strategic plays. I hustle on the court, and am a very resilient player. Lead my team with encouragement and lead by example.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Resilient and positive, on and off the court. Empathetic and caring. I am a player that can quickly reset after getting down or making mistakes, and maintain positive and uplifting attitude.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Junior Honor Society; Ignite Spark award. Played flute in Conner Middle School band and received several awards, plus being selected to perform at the Morehead State Band Clinic, where 400 students from 3 states gather to form 5 honor bands.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have been the captain of many teams, and have participated in Student Council, which have both helped me develop great leadership skills. I am a very hard worker, always striving for my personal best and reaching my highest potential.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I played soccer throughout my childhood before trying volleyball for the first time at age 11. I fell in love with volleyball, but starting later, my skills were not as advanced as many others my age. I worked very hard to improve my skills, and played on my freshman and JV team in 9th grade. I was just recently moved up to my club’s Nationals team, and worked my way to starting setter.

What type of college are you looking for?

Medium sized college within about 4 hours of my home where I can pursue my desired career in Genetics.
