Kampsen does a great job running the offense. Kampsen involves a number of hitters and executes a variety of sets. Kampsen backs up and makes sound first touches. Kampsen executes both overhead and bump passes. A good next step for Kampsen is aiming her arms and body toward the target better so teams can get into a good offensive rhythm.

Kampsen (pictured) quickly figures out where hitters want balls and does a good job placing them on target. Kampsen can make sound first touches then get into her platform for more balls that come her way. She is also a sound server. She is not afraid to aggressively serve struggling opponents.

Kampsen made contributions at setter and on the right side complementing Koerber well. Kampsen is also in sync with the hitters allowing Koerber to take quality swings. Kampsen brings in different looks to the positions. The coaching staff has also taken advantage of her versatility.

The Cougars expected some younger players to step forward to help out their three key returning players and Kampsen has been one to do that. Kampsen has split time with Koerber at setter allowing Koerber to take some swings. Kampsen can also take nice swings when needed. Kampsen reads defenses well putting teammates in position to succeed.

Carnes said Kampsen did a good job being smart with the ball in the team’s 6-2 attack. Kampsen said the key to sound setter play is knowing which hitters are hot, how things are going and what the other team looks like. Kampsen credited the team for accepting her and bonding with each other on and off the court. Kampsen set on the freshman team at Conner in the fall and played right side on the junior varsity. Those experiences came in handy for this tournament.
