I was able to see Lexi Van Eekeren Lexi Van Eekeren 5'9" Benet Academy | 2027 IL for 1st Alliance 15 Silver last season where she was a dual threat athlete, scoring points off her and setting her teammates up for success.  She plays with great court savvy and a high IQ.  Her skill set is comparable to many 1st Alliance athletes where they can contribute in two different positions. 

Lexi is quick and scrappy on the court. I saw her make some great defensive pick ups in game play and she worked really hard on every repetition and play as a setter. She was fun to watch, especially once we started scrimmaging and she was able to lead an offense.

Covering 1st Alliance the past four to five years, they always manage to have an all around approach to their athletes who can play multiple positions.  This goes for Van Eekeren who can set and swing for 1st Alliance 15 Silver.  Van Eekeren has volleyball in her family genes with multiple family members playing at a high level.  She knows how to contribute in multiple ways for her side of the net.  Seeing her at the Windy City Qualifier, she showed how she could score points as a setter or attacker. As a setter, she receives the ball high and is very controlled.  She is always looking to push the tempo when the opportunity presents itself.  This 1st Alliance 15 Silver team has a national division bid to Vegas and will be one to watch.
