As far as I am concerned, she is a top performer. Not selecting her may have been an oversight on my part. Last year she set a 5/1 for American 15. They finished third out of 128 teams in the American Division at the Northeast Qualifiers. For high school she also made the All Cedar Run District first team while setting a 5/1 for Osborne.
This coming season she will set for American 17 Red. That is a jump of two years. At 5’9″ she brings decent height to the setting position. If she could enhance her vertical to fly a bit higher over the net that could make her more impactful in the front row. As an ex-gymnast this should be achievable. Last year she played a year down. This year she plays her age. A nice challenge for the new club season.

from the class of 2026 plays down and sets for the 15 team. Both are promising setters. Aleix gets an opportunity to set a 5/1 for American 15. They did finish third out of 128 teams in the American Division at the Northeast Qualifiers. Not enough to get them a bid but an eye opener for a result. The team seems to be play8ng well as the season winds down. Alexis brings an approach jump of 9″3″ and a block jump of 8’10” to the court. Another one of those young gymnasts who fell into volleyball.

While she played down setting for the American 15 team she received experience setting a 5/1. The team also experienced success in their local tournaments. They played in the Mideast qualifier rather than the Chesapeake Regionals, though at the 15 level it would have been tough to earn a bid at the local tournament. Alexis ran the offense well and at 5’9″ does provide a presence at the net with a block jump just short of 9 feet. Alexis did earn second team honors for the Cedar Run District, an impressive feat for a sophomore. That earned her a jump from 75 to 61 in our class of 2026 rankings.

Alexis appeared in my list of biggest climbers during my last class of 2026 ranking and seven to watch for this club season. She earned a spot on the Cedar Run District second team last year. When watching her play I love her enthusiasm. She certainly knows how to get the most out of her teammates for staying focused in the game, a primary responsibility for a setter. American sits at number 17 in the local Chesapeake region. She ranks at number 75 for the class of 2026, but that could see an uptick when rankings are updated in April.
