The smallest on today’s list with the biggest heart and the highest drive, Ali is a fun-to-watch setter that can take over a match at the most important position on the court. Able to take a ball over on two contacts as easily as she can run a quick offense, Ali’s tucked away at smallish SEIVB, where under-the-radar is just an average day. I’m amazed at her ability to be self-driven, and her work ethic, determination and all-out go-go-go attitude will carry her far in her recruiting journey.

Punching WAY above her weight class, Ali is a quick, accurate and athletic setter that has flown under the radar for her entire career, and is starting to receive overdue attention. The heart and soul of Greensburg’s young core, Miss Wells is fully capable of running either a 5-1 or a 6-2 at the next level. Some will overlook her because of her size. Yes, she’s smaller than the average setter, but to make up for it in foot speed, athleticism, jumping ability and sheer will is the type of kid I would recruit to simply have in the gym and make everyone around her better.

Ali is the complete package! She runs a smooth court making great decisions showing talent and efficiency of a top setter. She has excellent ball control with great hands and accuracy to set the pins moving quickly and fluidly to get under balls. She utilizes her middles well and sets a fast ball to keep the opposition hustling. Ali shows her athleticism with a beautiful jump set, spot on back set and can set tight or off the net equally and impressively! She is crafty and fast and her front line is ready for her showing excellent rapport with them. She will get to that no so perfect up and make it a perfect pass. Ali shows excellent enthusiasm for her team and runs the court like a well-oiled machine! Love, love, love her play!

To wrap my epically long day up, I got a chance to watch this spitfire of a setter from Greensburg. Earning a win over a tough Circle City squad, Ali ran a 5-1 offense to perfection with varied tempos. She’s also a defense-first setter, which is more than I can say about a lot of setters in this class. Tough as nails and easily the emotional leader of SEIVB, Ali’s the kid you need to have when the match is on the line. With athleticism and speed through the roof, Ali should be receiving a ton of recruiting attention in the coming year. Her future is bright—-she’s a plug-and-play option in a 6-2 offense for the next level, and understands the work involved to get there.

Her appearance at our Exposure Tour made waves with more than one court coach, as her skill set allows her to be a lot of things on the volleyball court. As a setter, she can run a solid offense with various tempi and multiple options in her hitters. Knowing the game better than a lot of setters from southeastern Indiana, she’ll be fun to watch this club season with SEIVB, and I look forward to seeing her compete in major tournaments this spring.

From time to time, I like to hit up the coaches running the drills as to which athletes stood out for them. On more than one occasion, Ali was mentioned, and for good reason. Not only is she fully capable of running an offense, but is adept at ball control in all forms. At Greensburg, she’s known nothing but winning, and being on SEIVB for her club program will get her that much-needed training and higher level of play that will really push her skill set.
