Need more middle blockers for the list? Kafka is a perfect choice given all the highlight moments she has produced over the past year. The Omaha Marian standout has demonstrated her improvement at a variety of venues, including our most recent Prep Dig Showcase in La Vista. She hasn’t slowed down this spring and is bringing unmatched physicality to Nebraska Elite’s top 17s squad. Kafka’s numbers keep skyrocketing, placing her among the best uncommitted prospects in Nebraska’s 2025 class.

Middle blockers will be prevalent in this feature. We’re starting with Kafka, an Omaha Marian prep star who represents Nebraska Elite on the club side. Kafka made her stock-rising potential known at our La Vista showcase before the 2023 high school season started. Once we got into live competition, this physical middle blocker dominated the net for Marian and posted career-bests in kills per set and hitting efficiency. Time to keep that streak going to start 2024.

Kafka claimed the spotlight early and often in July’s Nebraska Stock Up Showcase. That turned out to be an omen of what was to come at Omaha Marian, as Kafka tallied a career-best 1.6 kills per set on a 0.244 hitting efficiency from the middle. She was also the most physical blocker for the Crusaders and tallied 66 total blocks in her junior campaign. There are still higher ceilings to reach in 2024.

Kafka has a way of asserting herself in the Omaha Marian frontcourt. That’s partially due to her great length and physicality, which allows Kafka to generate touches against Class A’s high-flying hitters. But Kafka is also fortifying her offense this year and can drive some aggressive swings from behind the setter. Expect this growth to continue with the Crusaders and in the Nebraska Elite gym next year.

Kafka’s physicality and technique led to multiple one-on-one stuffs and some of the hardest hits in individual drills. This Omaha Marian prep athlete is on a roll.

Nebraska Elite gets another one on the board with Kafka leading the charge for 16 Koa. This imposing middle was a crucial component to 16 Koa’s run to bracket play at NLQ, and the team has kept up its winning ways since then. Kafka also constitutes the second Omaha Marian prep athlete to make this future, so there’s a storyline to keep an eye on.

There’s plenty of credit to go around for Nebraska Elite 16 Koa’s appearance in NLQ bracket play. Kafka deserves a share of that. This imposing middle blocker moves well and is developing a knack for reading opposing setters. It’s a huge relief to 16 Koa’s defensive specialists that Kafka can take away attacking seams with such great efficiency.
