Nebraska’s Class of 2025 is first in the spotlight. We have another big contingent of new additions and stock risers to discuss from this latest update, even as the 2025s embark on their final year of prep competition. There’s always room to shake up our list.
First, let’s address the best of the uncommitted prospects. The Cornhusker State features plenty of future stars still looking for a spot to compete at the next level. We’re dedicated to addressing these players as much as we can, so that’s where we’ll start our post-update features.
Here’s the big board.
Pin Hitters
2025 pin hitters are still making gains. This list of uncommitted prospects is bound to shrink in the next several months.
The pin hitter conversation is still spearheaded by Abbie Hagedorn Abbie Hagedorn 5'11" | RS Omaha Skutt Catholic | 2025 State NE , our top-ranked uncommitted prospect in the 2025 rankings. The multi-year state champion at Skutt Catholic is drawing plenty of eyes following her move to Nebraska ONE 17 Synergy for this year’s club season. Her expansive role with her new team has helped reveal Hagedorn’s readiness for the next level. She’s a right-side hitter who can carry a big passing role and play all six rotations, too. That’s a lot to like as Hagedorn chases an Open bid with Nebraska ONE this spring.
Stay in the Nebraska ONE gym to find Sierra Crist Sierra Crist 5'11" | OH Crete | 2025 State NE , one of the state’s most prolific scorers with Crete High School last fall. Crist has seized an immediate leadership role with Nebraska ONE 17 Black and is still putting up big numbers on the left side. We’ve seen this versatile athlete take on a variety of roles on the club side, but now she’s a true offensive powerhouse and a go-to attacker. Crete’s superstar is ready for the next step.
Like Hagedorn and Crist, several other 2025 pin attackers are thriving while playing for new club teams this year. McKenna Smith McKenna Smith 5'9" | OH Wahoo | 2025 State NE is already shouldering major responsibilities with Nebraska Elite’s top 17s squad. Smith’s former Wahoo teammate, Hayden Osmera Hayden Osmera 5'11" | OH Lincoln Northeast | 2025 State NE , is fitting right in at Nebraska Juniors.
Of course, we have Premier Nebraska’s own stable of stars. Elle Heckenlively Elle Heckenlively 5'10" | OH Gretna | 2025 State NE ‘s multi-faceted attacking prowess keeps generating headlines. Chloe Livingston Chloe Livingston 5'7" | OH Papillion-La Vista South | 2025 State NE and Halle Kerkman Halle Kerkman 6'0" | OH Millard West | 2025 State NE are finding their stride alongside Heckenlively to give this club a lot of names worth watching.
Middle Blockers
This list is stacked.
Perhaps we’ll start with another Nebraska ONE duo. Lexi Hasselbalch Lexi Hasselbalch 5'10" | MB Norris | 2025 State NE and Kiera Link Kiera Link 6'1" | MB Omaha Skutt Catholic | 2025 State NE have joined forces on 17 Synergy after sparring for last year’s Class B title. Hasselbalch is a veteran in the Nebraska ONE gym who can flex between middle blocker and opposite. Link, meanwhile, provides incredible physicality in the middle and was one of Nebraska’s most productive blockers with Skutt Catholic. Keep an eye on both.
Annie Gleason Annie Gleason 5'11" | MB Beatrice | 2025 State NE brings some multi-sport representation after the junior helped Beatrice to a state basketball tournament appearance. On the volleyball court, Gleason boasts a quick arm that has taken over matches for Nebraska Juniors. More to come in 2024.
Nebraska Elite is a good place to look for up-and-coming middle blockers. Ava Stone Ava Stone 6'0" | MB Elkhorn South | 2025 State NE has climbed the ladder since the 2023 fall season and reminded us of that growth at last month’s ASICS Presidents’ Day Classic. We’ll also keep tabs on Amelia Kafka Amelia Kafka 6'0" | MB Omaha Marian | 2025 State NE and Kiya Johnson Kiya Johnson 6'1" | MB DC West | 2025 State NE as Omaha-area middle blockers keep excelling.
Premier Nebraska boasts dynamic scorers like Hailey Levinson Hailey Levinson 6'1" | MB Gretna East | 2025 State NE , Eliza Schmidt Eliza Schmidt 6'0" | MB Omaha Concordia | 2025 State NE , and Laynee Baker Laynee Baker 6'0" | MB Millard West | 2025 State NE . We’ll also give shoutouts to VCNebraska ‘s Katie Merten Katie Merten 5'11" | MB Lincoln East | 2025 State NE and River City Jrs ‘ Lillian Vitera Lillian Vitera 5'10" | MB Papillion-La Vista | 2025 State NE , both of whom had big junior seasons that ended in the state tournament.
Setters
A few of Nebraska’s top 2025 setters have given collegiate pledges recently, but we’re not done with the commitments yet.
Isabel Campie Isabel Campie 5'7" | S Omaha Marian | 2025 State NE stands out among the uncommitted prospects. She immediately landed on our radar as a starting freshman for Omaha Marian and has given so much to the Premier Nebraska gym. Her adaptability as a setter and a defensive specialist makes her a fascinating pickup for any collegiate program.
Premier Nebraska keeps adding to the conversation with Nyah Potthoff Nyah Potthoff 5'8" | S Gretna East | 2025 State NE ascending the 2025 ranks. She recently piloted Gretna East to a state tournament appearance in the school’s inaugural volleyball season. Potthoff also sets in a 5-1 for Premier Nebraska and will bring all the necessary traits to stay strong at the net.
Jillian Donovan Jillian Donovan 5'11" | S Lincoln Lutheran | 2025 State NE ‘s stock keeps rising. Some of that has to do with her leading role in Lincoln Lutheran’s 2023 state championship. But Donovan is equally impactful for Nebraska ONE and will be firmly in the GJNC bid hunt with 17 Black.
This position group has so many under-the-radar gems that we’ve enjoyed covering lately. Omaha Northwest’s Grace Lewis Grace Lewis 5'9" | S Omaha Northwest | 2025 State NE has ascended to Nebraska Elite’s top group this year. She is accompanied by Julia Ringenberg Julia Ringenberg 5'9" | S Elkhorn South | 2025 State NE , who has earned plenty of high-level experience with perennial powerhouse Elkhorn South.
Defensive Specialists
Nebraska’s 2025 libero class is stacked. Commitments are coming.
Rya Borer Rya Borer 5'1" | DS/L Norris | 2025 State NE is reaching new heights with VCNebraska . She immediately strengthened this year’s 17 Elite backcourt with her exceptional defense and passing. If you’re looking for a libero who is accustomed to playing against elite competition, Borer should be near the top of your list.
Nebraska Elite’s defensive depth is skyrocketing. Isabel Junior Isabel Junior 5'8" | DS/L Elkhorn South | 2025 State NE has always been strong for this club, but the addition of Olivia Kremer Olivia Kremer 5'11" | DS/L Lincoln Southwest | 2025 State NE is another big boost. Melody Mayer Melody Mayer 5'7" | DS/L Omaha Marian | 2025 State NE is carving her own path in the contrasting jersey with Nebraska Elite 17 Koa.
We need a couple of Nebraska Juniors mentions here with Reagan Ashby Reagan Ashby 5'5" | DS/L Aurora | 2025 State NE and Ruby Goes Ruby Goes 5'6" | DS/L Freeman | 2025 State NE performing at a high level. Don’t forget about Abby Covalt Abby Covalt 5'6" | DS/L Seward | 2025 State NE in the Nebraska ONE camp, either.
