The 17s made up a large portion of our on-site coverage at the Show Me Qualifier, so it’s time to reflect that in our coverage. Nebraska still has plenty of top-tier 2025s who could make an impact at the next level. That narrative evolved after some standout performances in Kansas City.
Include these uncommitted 2025s on your recruiting radar as we approach the late-season grind.
Piatkowski deserves another mention here after she took part in VCNebraska 17 Black’s division championship at Show Me. This skilled outside hitter has had no problem adapting to a new club team this year, and she has also reminded us of her wide-ranging impact in all six rotations. Piatkowski plays strong floor defense and will readily make first contacts in serve receive. These traits are obviously coveted by college coaches, and Piatkowski has proven she’s ready to take the next step.

Let’s pay a visit to South Central NE’s top 17s group. Fiala is a versatile frontcourt attacker who has played several positions throughout her prep career. She has recently demonstrated her excellence at middle blocker, which was evident in last year’s prep season with Adams Central. The small-town scene always has more hidden gems to talk about. Fiala is making herself known as South Central NE climbs the Great Plains Region hierarchy.
Kerkman is back and better than ever. Her return to the Premier 17 Gold lineup was a game-changer during the Show Me Qualifier, particularly during the team’s biggest contests. 17 Gold relied on Kerkman to kill balls in tough moments, and she usually found a way. The Millard West prep star could go over the top or tool off hands to get the job done. We’ll get another look at Kerkman and her talented team at this weekend’s Great Plains Region Bid Tournament.

Here’s another one from the 17 Gold lineup, and we’re technically reaching outside state lines here. Roenfeld competes in Iowa for the prep season but brings her high-flying style to Premier Nebraska for club. Whenever 17 Gold has in-system opportunities, the middles are sure to be a major factor in the offense. This is where Roenfeld gets her chance to produce floor-denting terminations in front of the setter. She has a rare combination of length and agility that will translate well to the next level.

Need more middle blockers for the list? Kafka is a perfect choice given all the highlight moments she has produced over the past year. The Omaha Marian standout has demonstrated her improvement at a variety of venues, including our most recent Prep Dig Showcase in La Vista. She hasn’t slowed down this spring and is bringing unmatched physicality to Nebraska Elite’s top 17s squad. Kafka’s numbers keep skyrocketing, placing her among the best uncommitted prospects in Nebraska’s 2025 class.

Osmera remains a consistent force despite some wholesale changes in her prep journey. She moved from Wahoo to the Lincoln scene last fall and put up eye-popping stats with Lincoln Northeast. This talented outside hitter is also adapting to a new club squad and is fitting right in with Nebraska Juniors 17 Black. Her explosive approach and quick arm have been instant hits with 17 Black, and she led the team’s scoring on multiple occasions in Kansas City. Don’t forget about her dynamic floor defense, either.

While we’re talking about prolific scorers, we can’t leave out one of Nebraska’s most dominant terminators in the class. Crist scored at will for Crete High School in 2023 as she climbed to the top of the state’s overall kills leaderboard. A similar storyline has played out with Nebraska ONE 17 Black. Crist is a transformative new addition to the lineup and helped 17 Black secure a GJNC bid through the Windy City Qualifier. She posted another strong outing at Show Me and will keep gathering momentum before Vegas beckons.

Nebraska ONE 17 Black is clearly a team to watch for uncommitted gems. Landon was a key piece of Nebraska ONE ‘s offensive onslaught in Kansas City, and this middle blocker found more than one way to get it done. 17 Black used Landon on gap plays throughout the event. This connection was tough to stop as opposing blockers struggled to lineup up against Landon’s deceptive approach. The stage is set for more gains at GJNC–and at Waverly High School soon after.
Kiichler carries the banner for Norfolk High School and is finding even more success with Nebraska Elite 17 Koa. Her shot variety on the outside makes her a tough player to defend. She can cuff the ball down the line or drop a perfect tip into the campfire. Kiichler knows the rigors of competing in Class A and has seen plenty of big moments with her club squad. Our list of outside hitters keeps growing.
Our final entry brings us to Premier 17 Red, a team loaded with outstanding defensive talent. Francis sits squarely in that conversation and is having a huge year in the team’s libero jersey. She reads opposing hitters with incredible efficiency and will fill in any seams left by the block. We have fond memories of watching Francis don the contrasting jersey for Papillion-La Vista, and she has kept climbing from there. Nebraska’s deep libero class leaves so many uncommitted stars on our rankings. Keep an eye on this group.
