. Very quick and technical, Alvarado controlled the backcourt when she was on, dominating serve-receive and getting a lot of touches on defense. She was also very effective when asked to set in transition and caused some problems for opponents from the service line with her top spin jump serve.

When thinking of a libero, most coaches would like to see a hard-working player who consistently gets the job done without much fanfare. That’s exactly Alvarado, who uses her excellent positioning and quickness to make difficult digs look easy when playing defense. Also very technical and calm on the ball, she does a great job with her serve-receive too, covering a lot of the court and consistently delivering accurate passes to her setter.

The 5’4″ Alvarado was called upon when her Tomball Memorial needed to get things under control on the defensive side of the game and every time she stepped on the court, she got the job done. With her great positioning and impressive quickness, no ball is out of reach for her. Alvarado also did a key job with her passing, much needed for a team that has a handful of tall players who thrive when hitting quick sets. She had 19 digs and 32 passes with limited playing time.
