About Angelia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am one of the Setters in a 6-2 Offense for both my High School and my Club Team. I am a player that leaves it all on the court. I like to spread out my sets to different hitters to keep the other team guessing. I try to lead my team with my actions and with my positive words. My voice is usually almost gone after a long game or weekend tournament. I hustle and dive and give it 100% out there

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

My non-sport school involvement includes the following: Sophomore Year: ASB Sophomore Class VP, Choir Junior Year: ASB Junior Class VP, Choir, Yearbook Senior Year: ASB Executive President

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

June 2023, I tore my ACL during the last tournament of my season. It took awhile to schedule an MRI. In the meantime, I rehabbed it and prepared for the upcoming club tryouts, not knowing it was a full tear. I tried out for a new club that summer, the Supernova All-Stars and I made their top team for my age group, 16 Nationals. I had surgery in Sept & was able to come back in April 2024.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a small school that is a good fit for me both athletically and academically. I know that I am on the short side so I am looking for a program that runs a 6-2 offense. I am looking for schools with a Kinesiology program or Pre-Health Advising program that is a bridge to a Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Occidental College, Chapman U, and Whittier have programs like these.

She jump sets with ease, allowing her to run a dynamic, fast tempo offense. Her speed also allows her to track down balls all over the court, keeping plays alive and giving her team scoring opportunities that they likely wouldn’t have had. Overall, Donnelly has an energetic and smart player who elevates those on the court with her.
