About Ashlyn

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have received Honor Roll status with my 4.0 GPA. I was just awarded the Mac Scholar Athlete Scholarship for Westivew High School.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Due to my Leadership class at school, I fit in and have a fun role in making sure the school functions properly. I also get to help plan activities and make operational decisions.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

An obstacle I have faced is moving schools. Right before my freshman year, my family moved to the Westview area. I had to leave all of my friends that I had been close with for over seven years. It was very challenging to go to a brand new school and go in only knowing only two of the 2,400+ students at one of the largest schools in Oregon.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would like a large university in an urban environment. I like lots of people and culture, plus fun things to do.

She has great eye work on the block, remaining calm and composed so she can move quickly to close blocks and get touches. This past weekend she was a blocking machine, putting up a wall in the middle and challenging the other side of the net.
