Previous rank: #147Why the rise? Ainsworth was late to get on our radar. But was hard to ignore by the end of this past high school season. She ran a 5-1 for Marshfield, leading them to the 4A State finals. After watching her play more, we knew she had to move WAY up our rankings. With a soft touch and a quick, high release, she moves the ball around the court effortlessly. She displays a natural hand strength, finding her pin hitters from great distances across the court. At 6’1”, she sets across the front row with ease, becoming incredibly offensive. With so much untapped potential, she gives glimmers of Texas setter freshman phenom Ella Swindle. I am eager to see Ainsworth compete at a very high level, playing for NPJ 17-1 National this club season.

Sophomore setter Ainsworth was instrumental in her team’s first state win: Without Ainsworth’s excellent setting, Montiel and Gould would not have likely been as dominating as they were. Ainsworth posted an impressive 22 assists, and she also notched 3 kills for a strong .286 hitting percentage. At the service line, Ainsworth was powerful, too: She served a .929, with 2 aces and only 1 error on 14 total serves. Ainsworth notched 3 digs and 1 block assist to push her team closer to victory.
