About Avalon

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

A strong PIN hitter, I can hit both cross-court and line with power, but also adept at reading defense and placing smart tips. I love going for aggressive plays, but can adjust to prioritize patience and consistency.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm focused and block out distractions by focusing on the present moment in the game. When mistakes happen, I learn from them and focus on the next play.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Founding member of Where Everybody Belongs, a peer support group at Earl Warren Middle School. I volunteer with California Doodle Rescue and foster dogs while the rescue finds them the perfect home. I have been a Junior Lifeguard for 6 years and plan on working as a lifeguard when I am old enough.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Volleyball has taught me how to be part of a team and what it takes to work together to achieve the best results possible. It's important to lead by example by being supportive and encouraging on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My mom got cancer when I was 2 1/2 and battled for several years. She's healthy now, but it has affected my life in many ways. Most of all, I've learned that it's important to treat everyone with kindness because you never know what challenges they might be having that day.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm not sure yet!
