55 to 25. While she stands 6’3″ she also has long arms that can reach high over the net. She clearly stood out as the top player in her high school, leading the team in kills and blocks. This earned her a spot as honorable mention on the Washington Post All Met team.

It appears her game is just beginning to develop. As she gains more experience she will be a force at the net. Unlike a number of other players blessed with height Averi brings quickness to her game. It will be fun to watch her develop.

Did not get to see any Riverdale Baptist games this year. Averi led the team in kills, blocks and service aces. She also showed some ability to play back row, finishing second in digs while also lining up in serve receive. This could indicate some use at the pins.

For Metro her back row play will be limited. She lists at 6’3″ with a 10’1″ approach jump. For a big girl she hits the quick tempo sets well, applying good extension on her swings while also showing premium athleticism with her movements.

For the second straight year Averi earned a spot on the Washington Post honorable mention team.

Last year I did not get to see Averi play. Her high school team went undefeated last year. She was listed as one of the captains on the team. That is pretty impressive. She also was just one of two frosh named to the Post All Met team as an honorable mention. Laila Chadwick Laila Chadwick 5'8" | DS/L/OH James Madison | 2027 State #46 Nation VA was the other. That is pretty high company to keep. Add to that her 6’2″ height plus playing for Metro and getting some accolades from some who have seen her play was enough to spot her in the rankings at 54. My suspicion is that ranking may rise once I see her play.
