About Avery

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a versatile player that can set or swing. I’m currently starting as a middle hitter & setting in the back row for my high school team. Last club season I hit middle in the front row and set in the back row. I love the game and thrive on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’ve always had a goal to play volleyball in college. At the end of the day I’m a volleyball player and can play where needed. I’m coachable, hard working, intense, & driven.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’m a leader on and off the court. I like to encourage my teammates while also motivating them. I lead by example and take ownership in my play. I’m driven, focused, and can handle the intensity.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I wouldn’t say significant but I am able to set and play middle. It’s great to be versatile but that also comes with challenges. In order to improve I must stay after practice and do extra workouts just to accomplish the reps others are working on in a single practice. I split my time between setting, defending, hitting, & blocking. I love it all but it chan be a challenge.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’ve been fortunate to play for some of the best coaches in MN. I’m used to the intensity and demands of a quality program. My idea of fun is working hard, playing together, & improving everyday. My goal is to be a part of a successful program where I can contribute in any way.

Fahl kicked things off in the first set with 4 kills. She was so consistent and efficient with her slide route and worked different angles to get the job done. It’s fitting her high school career ended in this fashion. With 21 kills and only 4 errors on 44 attempts she was swinging a scorching .386. Fahl also added a lot of pressure from the service line and made great decisions in transition. She added 21 assists, 2 aces, and 8 digs to be one of the most productive in her final match as a Marshall Tiger. She also made sure the championship point was a decisive one.
