Gillingham was a lot of fun to watch this season as she played a 6-2 with Avery Fahl Avery Fahl 6'0" | S/MB Marshall | 2026 State MN and swung on the right side when she was in the front row. Her location was consistent and accurate which gave her hitters confidence in where the ball would be going. Gillingham’s connection with Fahl on the slide was a beautiful thing and was an almost instant point when I saw it in action.

Gillingham is not just a steady and consistent distributor but she was making some defensive plays that may have saved the match for the Tigers in the 3rd set. I love when players can come in clutch in the high-pressure moments. Gillingham just stays so zoned in and focused on the task at hand.

Heading to the south west part of the state we’ve got state champion, Gillingham who can jump set and run a creative offense that finds a way to win. She’s got a relentless drive and fire that powers her athleticism and compliments her volleyball IQ. It’s only a matter of time before Gillingham is picked up by a college program since she clearly knows how to win.

Gillingham is a super athletic setter who knows how to compete and she knows how to win. She is explosive, jump sets most balls, has a high quick release on the ball, and makes running pin-to-pin look easy. I think opposing blockers are exhausted just thinking about trying to keep up with her.

Gillingham is new to the rankings but not to our radar. She was flying under the radar a bit because she plays for Kairos out of Sioux Falls so it took us a bit longer to connect the dots (Thanks for the help, Wade!) I got to see her live at the X in November and then again at the Prep Dig Top 250 in December. Gillingham was breaking records this season including etching her name in the record book as 4th all time season assists after recording 1,128 assists for Marshall in 2023.

Gillingham can jump set everything with quick hands and a clean release. She is smart and knows when it’s best to used her platform and when to push a quick ball to the outside. Gillingham moves the ball around and runs her offense like a seasoned pro.
