In one of the tightest moments of her weekend, a challenging pass forced her to adjust mid-air, still delivering a fast one to her middle that helped swing momentum in a 33–31 battle.

That is not just athleticism. That is trust, timing, and decision-making under pressure.

One of the biggest jumps in her game this season has been delivering hittable balls off counterflow passes while still keeping both pins and middles involved. Challenging balls are no longer slowing her offense down, they are creating opportunities for her to become even more creative.

Away from volleyball, her work in ocean conservation has shaped how she solves problems, stays mentally tough, and continues searching for solutions when things get complicated.

With a 17-USA bid still in front of them through Power League, Avery’s game feels creative, composed, and increasingly difficult for blockers to read.

She stayed composed under pressure and approached every point with a go-get-it mindset, keeping her hitters aggressive and confident in key moments. One of her favorite sequences came during a long rally where she dove into the score table to save a ball, then transitioned immediately to set a tight pass that resulted in a middle kill. Looking ahead, Avery is focused on setting more against the flow, increasing tempo by reading the block faster, holding the middle longer, and becoming more deceptive to open one-on-one scoring opportunities. Off the court, she recently signed a partnership with a global organization supporting environmental conservation and leadership, aligning her athletic discipline with her personal values.

Avery’s next competition is League 1 on February 7.
