Avery Olguin earned Top Performer at the Nevada Freshman Showcase, August 8, 2026.

Avery plays with a level of focus that stands out on the right side. She is able to hit any ball regardless of the set, which shows real adaptability in a position that often gets imperfect sets. That ability to attack from any look led to what can only be described as right side domination throughout the day. She stays locked in point to point, not letting a bad swing or a tough set throw off her focus. Her combination of focus and shot versatility makes her a tough matchup for opposing blockers.

Avery has established herself as a reliable scoring threat on the pin. Primarily playing opposite, she can also be effective from either side and consistently finds ways to terminate rallies. Avery does a strong job putting away out-of-system balls and contributes physically at the net with her blocking presence as well. Recently attending the Under Armour Next Middle School Camp and helping her team earn a bid to USAV Nationals only adds to an already impressive young résumé.
