About Avery

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Balance: a mix of offense and defense using my power, positive attitude and resilience to be successful and be a good teammate.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Competitive, I love to win, but I love the game and my teammates more.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

ASB at school, I also play softball

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a great team player, always smiling and encouraging my teammates to work hard and play together. I’m working on my leadership skills both on the court and through ASB at my school.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

At times I have struggled with maintaining confidence in myself but I’m learning strategies from listening to coaches, my parents and some volleyball podcasts on how to bounce back and work through that.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m not really sure yet but I think I might want to experience life in a big city, so at this time I’d say I’m interested in colleges or universities in big cities.
