About Avery

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m an aggressive and high-energy outside hitter who plays with confidence and intensity. I focus on being a reliable scorer, mixing up my shots with strong swings, smart placement, and great court awareness. I take pride in my passing and defense as well, working hard to stay consistent in serve receive and contribute all around.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I bring a resilient, confident mindset and perform well in high-pressure situations. I’m competitive, high-energy, and focused on the team, consistently playing with intensity while staying calm and composed in key moments.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m actively involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, as well as in my church’s youth group, where I build strong connections, grow in my faith, and contribute to a supportive community.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As a sophomore varsity captain, I’ve developed strong leadership and communication skills by guiding teammates both on and off the court. I’ve learned how to lead by example, stay composed under pressure, and keep the team focused and motivated. I’ve also built accountability, trust, and the ability to connect with different personalities while helping create a positive, competitive team culture.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Growing up with a sibling with special needs has taught me patience, empathy, and responsibility at a young age. It can be challenging balancing their needs with my own, but it’s helped me become more understanding, adaptable, and supportive of others.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that challenges me academically with strong programs and support to help me grow in the classroom. Athletically, I want a competitive environment where I can continue to develop my skills, contribute to the team, and be pushed to improve every day. Socially, I’m looking for a positive, close-knit community that values hard work, trust, and accountability.
