What makes these athletes stand out is not simply talent. It is awareness.   Each athlete below understands that the biggest summer stages are not just about making plays. They are about showing college coaches how you compete, how you communicate, how you respond under pressure, and what kind of teammate you become when the level rises. From elite club battles to cross-country matchups, these athletes are stepping into Arizona with intention and looking to separate themselves in real time.    [player_tooltip player_id='931272' first='Sophia' last='Hornby'] enters Summer NIT with the kind of emotional presence that immediately changes the energy inside a gym. The 2029 outside hitter openly talks about wanting to “own the court,” and that mentality shows up throughout the way she describes her game. She wants people to notice her ability to impact matches through energy, competitiveness, and emotional consistency, but also through the way she lifts teammates and responds in high-pressure moments. She is excited to bring leadership, communication, and energy into Summer NIT, while helping fuel the confidence and competitiveness of the athletes around her. She wants coaches and opponents to notice the fire her team plays with in close matches, but more importantly, she wants them to notice the connection she creates with hitters and teammates throughout those moments. She leads with emotional leadership, which is one of the hardest qualities to teach at the setter position.   What makes Fincher's story compelling is her honesty about recruiting. Despite a strong season, she openly acknowledges still feeling somewhat unknown to college coaches, which is exactly why this event matters so much to her.   Rather than waiting for exposure to happen naturally, Fincher is actively placing herself into one of the strongest summer recruiting environments in the country. She specifically highlighted that she is looking forward to matchups against Livewire and Arizona Storm Volleyball Club because those battles brought out some of the best volleyball her team has played this season. She talks about the chemistry her team has built over years together and how that trust allows them to play freely and aggressively in big matches. Blaine also specifically mentions wanting coaches to notice how hard her team competes collectively, which reflects the kind of athlete who understands winning environments are built through accountability and connection, not individual moments alone.   Recruiting is already becoming very real for Blaine. Off the court, Blaine enjoys training, spending time outdoors, and openly shares how important faith is in her life. She specifically wants coaches to notice how electric and competitive her team can become when momentum builds, and her answers consistently point toward an athlete who embraces emotional intensity rather than shrinking from it.   From a recruiting perspective, Muradoglu already understands the importance of exposure and how valuable events like Summer NIT can become for athletes trying to prove themselves against elite national competition.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> I want every college coach that encounters me to see the value that I have. </blockquote>   She is especially excited for both national matchups and in-state Arizona rivalries because she believes those environments reveal the strongest competitors. Off the court, Muradoglu describes herself as social, bubbly, and outgoing, but her college goals are serious. She wants Division I competition, elite teammates, and an environment that challenges her mentally and physically every day. She is excited to bring competitiveness, sportsmanship, and vocal energy into Summer NIT while helping create an environment where teammates support one another throughout high-level competition. Hu wants people watching to notice her team's chemistry and effort, but also how much they genuinely enjoy competing together against strong national opponents.   What separates Hu is her understanding that recruiting is not something athletes simply wait for.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> I would like to be the one who takes action on my recruiting journey. </blockquote>   That level of ownership stands out immediately, especially from a younger athlete. Hu is excited to compete against nationally respected teams like A5 because she sees those matches as opportunities for growth rather than intimidation. Off the court, she describes herself as organized, caring, adventurous, and deeply driven toward her long-term goal of playing Division I volleyball.
