With all the attention on Cotter’s powerful offense and the McNutt sisters, Mansfield’s defense could be the difference in this semifinal matchup. One player to keep an eye on is junior libero Bailey Quick Bailey Quick 5'4" | DS/L Mansfield | 2028 AR .

Quick was a defensive specialist for the Lady Tigers last season during their run to the 3A state championship. This year, she’s taken over the libero position and become an important part of Mansfield’s back-row defense.

Mansfield head coach Heydenreich had this to say about Quick:

Against Cotter, those instincts will be tested. The Lady Warriors have plenty of firepower, led by freshman Lily McNutt Lily McNutt 6'4" | MB Cotter | 2030 State AR , who is coming off a state quarterfinal triple-double. Mansfield will need to extend rallies, keep balls off the floor and turn Cotter’s attacks into offensive opportunities of its own.

The big hitters will get plenty of attention, but don’t overlook the work being done in the back row. If Mansfield is going to make another trip to Hot Springs, Bailey Quick Bailey Quick 5'4" | DS/L Mansfield | 2028 AR could play a major role in getting them there.
