About Blake

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a scrappy pin hitter who plays with high energy and physicality. I bring a powerful, consistent serve and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to keep the ball alive—whether that’s extending rallies, covering teammates, or making tough defensive plays. I take pride in competing on every point and being reliable in big moments.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a passionate, competitive player with a team-first mindset. I hold myself to a high standard and strive for excellence every time I step on the court/field. I’m vocal, encouraging, and coachable, and I enjoy pushing both myself and my teammates to be better.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have proudly played for Heat VB Club for the past 5 years and Appleton LAX Club (midfielder) for 1 year. I've been a cast member in the Broadway-style musical Christmas Stars for 8 years, performing acting, singing, and lead dancing roles in front of approximately 7k people annually. I recently received Student of the Month for my ability to build positive relationships with diverse individuals.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through competitive sports, I’ve developed strong leadership and communication skills. I’m comfortable being vocal on the court/field, keeping teammates positive, and helping maintain focus during high-pressure situations. I value teamwork and understand the importance of trust, effort, and consistency in a successful program.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to stay composed and productive in high-pressure situations. Through experience and coaching, I’ve learned how to channel that pressure into focus and effort, which has made me a more consistent and dependable player.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can compete at a high level, continue developing as a player, and be part of a strong team culture. Finding the right fit academically, athletically, and culturally is important to me.
