Western Iowa is always a recruiting battleground where there are plenty of top NAIA programs in Iowa and Nebraska that are going after these programs.  For Bre VanDenTop Bre VanDenTop 5'10" | MB/OH Sergeant Bluff-Luton | 2026 State IA of Sergeant Bluff-Luton and MVP ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”], she will head to D2 University of Sioux Falls. This program is much improved, advancing to the NSIC Tournament this past season going 14-6.  VanDenTop has been part of successful high school teams playing in the state tournament and MVP ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”] out of Sioux City.  She brings quickness and athleticism to the middle blocker position where her dynamic ability to score points and block is what makes her an exciting commit for the Cougars. Another Iowa prep heading to Sioux Falls is Maegan Cheeseman Maegan Cheeseman 6'0" | S Ankeny Centennial | 2026 State IA who is a setter/right side combo player who had a very decorated career for Ankeny Centennial High School with multiple appearances in the large class semifinals. 

Van Den Top had a huge year as a sophomore where she was an All District performer for Sergeant Bluff-Luton and followed that up with a huge club season for MVP out of the Sioux City area where she was a 16 American Division All Tournament Team Selection.  She has plenty of athleticism and physicality where she can swing from anywhere on the court, front or backrow, She will be a big time leader for the Warriors who are looking to get back to the state tournament after a string of appearances.

Van Den Top is another high level 2026 athlete from MVP who preps at Sergeant Bluff-Luton outside of Sioux City.  Van Den Top brings a really physical and athletic style of play to the court as a 5’10 attacker. She can attack high and hits a heavy ball where she can score points a variety of ways.  She had over 300 kills her sophomore year at SBL, and will look to lead her team back to a deep run in the postseason with an elevated all around game for 2024.
