About Brooklyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I focus on strong fundamentals in my volleyball game. I strive to be versatile on both offense and defense. I communication well and I work to anticipate my teammates' moves and cover the court effectively. I maintain a positive attitude throughout the game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a growth-focused mentality, always looking to improve and adapt. I stay positive and composed, even under pressure, and believe in the power of teamwork and clear communication. My mindset is about staying resilient and keeping a strong work ethic.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in NHS. I received an A-team award twice for having straight A’s my freshman and sophomore year.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed strong leadership skills, both on and off the court, by motivating and supporting my teammates, fostering a collaborative environment, and helping guide team strategy. My ability to work well in a team is one of my core strengths, as I always prioritize communication, trust, and adaptability. Volunteering in my community has shaped me into a more empathetic and reliable person.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Moving from Cimarron, Kansas, to the Rock Creek School District the summer before my junior year was a major challenge that pushed me outside of my comfort zone. I had to adjust to a new school and to the competition in a larger school. I had to prove myself to earn my starting spot on the varsity. This taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of making my presence known.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with a good volleyball program, good education, good community presence and is in a good location.
