Brooklyn Miehm has spent the past year training herself to recognize offensive patterns before the attack ever happens. She studies set location, hitter timing, and how her block is positioned to anticipate tips, hard-driven swings, and defensive responsibilities before the ball leaves the attacker’s hand. That preparation has helped her cover more court while becoming an increasingly reliable defender.

Her technical approach extends into every phase of the game. Rather than allowing frustration to speed her up, Miehm focuses on efficient movement, disciplined footwork, and trusting the training she has built over countless repetitions. Staying calm through serve receive and recovering quickly after late-moving float serves have become noticeable areas of growth, reinforcing the value of preparation over panic.

Balance is a word that is important to Brooklyn.

She takes pride in maintaining strong grades, staying disciplined with her schoolwork, and managing her time effectively while continuing to develop as a volleyball player. At the same time, she places a high value on relationships, making time for family and friends and recognizing the importance of a strong support system.

When Brooklyn talks about college, she is looking for more than competitive volleyball. She wants an environment where student-athletes are challenged academically, encouraged to develop as people, and surrounded by teammates and coaches who value effort, discipline, and continuous improvement. Her answer reflects someone who understands success is rarely built in just one area of life.

Brooklyn brought constant energy to the backcourt and played with a fearless defensive mindset. She covered ground well, extended rallies, and injected life into her group with her hustle and enthusiasm.

Her defensive effort and energy were consistent from first ball to last, making her a standout performer on Coach Wilkerson’s court.

Brooklyn Miehm Brooklyn Miehm 5'7" | DS/L/OH Mountain View | 2029 CA is a libero headed to Mountain View High School who brings leadership, resilience, and a love for the grind to every rep. For Brooklyn, volleyball has shaped her far beyond the court. It’s taught her how to push herself, be a better teammate, and stay competitive while embracing personal growth. She’s learned the value of hard work, how to bounce back from tough losses, and how to move forward from mistakes…lessons that continue to impact her life in meaningful ways.

This year, Brooklyn has poured her energy into becoming a stronger defender. She’s developed an aggressive mindset, sharpened her court awareness, and become a vocal leader in team defense. Reading hitters and covering as much ground as possible has become her focus, and she takes pride in how far her backcourt game has come. Right now, she’s working on serve receive, especially tracking float serves, improving footwork in specific situations, and using her hands more effectively on deeper balls.

One of Brooklyn’s favorite memories was playing in the Open division in Spokane. Her team was down players due to illness and injury, but instead of folding, they rose to the challenge. Seeing her teammates step up and discover the potential she always believed they had was a proud and unforgettable moment.

Outside of volleyball, Brooklyn has a unique background, she used to ski, ride horses, and even compete in Rubik’s Cube competitions. With a full schedule balancing school and volleyball, she doesn’t get a lot of downtime, but when she does, she enjoys being with family and friends.
