‘s development this season shows up most clearly in her serve receive stability and defensive reads. The film reflects improved anticipation. She is positioning earlier instead of reacting late, controlling first contact under pressure, and creating cleaner offensive opportunities because of it. Her value is rooted in repeatable discipline rather than occasional highlight plays.
From the back row, she organizes seams and keeps the defense connected through constant communication. There is noticeable composure in how she manages rallies, especially when tempo speeds up. Her impact is subtle but structural, the kind that stabilizes a lineup over the course of a match.
Her current focus is consistency across every responsibility in her role. She is intentional about being reliable, not streak-based. Cadence stays after training for additional serve receive reps, works specifically on platform angles and controlled touches, and prioritizes quick mental resets so one error does not leak into the next rally. The emphasis on reset speed and emotional steadiness is a strong indicator of processing maturity.
When asked what she wants a college coach to understand beyond the stat sheet, her answer is clear:
More than anything, I want a coach to see that I compete for every ball, I elevate the people around me, and I value team success over individual recognition. I’m there to make the game easier for my hitters, my setter, and my teammates and to bring consistency and toughness every single rally.
That language reflects an athlete who understands role value. She frames her game around connection, toughness, and making others better rather than individual metrics.
Off the court, Cadence speaks directly about discipline, accountability, and growth. She holds herself to a high academic standard and is intentional about time management. The consistency she is building in volleyball mirrors the consistency she expects of herself as a student and teammate. Her self-description centers around internal standards, not external validation.

is a player who has impacted Cadence this season. She points to her sister’s joyful energy, constant encouragement, and ability to shift the emotional tone of the gym. She specifically highlights Cedra’s consistent communication and belief regardless of score. The way Cadence describes her impact reveals an understanding that competitive environments are shaped as much by mindset and presence as by skill execution.

15 Carlos, saw her serve receive take a big step forward at NTDP. “By improving my technique and court awareness, I became more confident in handling tough serves,” she said. “In the upcoming season, I will use this skill to keep our team in system and create scoring opportunities.”
The pillar of Mind had the biggest impact on Cadence during the training series. “The training series challenged me to stay focused, think critically during fast-paced situations, and make smart decisions under pressure,” she explained. “I learned the importance of mental preparation, staying composed during tough moments, and constantly analyzing the game to improve my performance. This lesson will help me approach every practice and match with a clearer mindset and greater confidence.”
She was inspired by Annabelle Cummings, a fellow NTDP athlete. “Her confidence on and off the court was something I really admired. She played with assurance and never doubted herself, even in high-pressure situations. Watching her taught me that believing in yourself can elevate not only your own game but also inspire your teammates,” Cadence said. “From Annabelle, I learned that confidence is key to performing at your best and helping those around you feel capable too. This lesson has helped me focus on trusting my skills, staying composed during challenges, and being a supportive teammate.”
Travis Magorien from the University of Virginia made a lasting impression. “His approach to the game and focus on preparation really stood out. He always emphasized that success comes from the little details,” she shared. “What I will carry with me from Coach Travis is his guidance on staying consistent, being accountable, and working not only for myself but also to support and elevate the entire team.”

“Thank you so much! I’m incredibly honored to be selected for the USAV NTDP. It’s an amazing opportunity to grow as both a player and a person, and I’m especially excited to train alongside some of the top athletes in the country. The level of competition and coaching is going to push me to be my best, and I’m really looking forward to learning, improving, and connecting with teammates who share the same passion for the game.
Being invited to the USAV NTDP has always been a goal for me. Achieving a goal like this proves that with enough heart and hard work, anything is possible.
