Capable of playing at either pin, she’s been mostly used on the left, operating as the team’s go-to scorer. Emmerling uses her length better than most tall players as she’s been able to develop a lot of shots and she uses every and each one of them, making of her a very difficult player to gameplan against – she can smash the ball down but also score with an inch-perfect tip. Emmerling is also a solid blocker and evolved to become a strong passer over the years.

Emmerling was the main offensive player in her TAV Houston 17 Adidas team, getting on the ball a lot and scoring at a high volume. Very explosive with her offensive approach, she used her length and strong and skilled right arm to beat blockers and defenders. Emmerling displayed a well-diversified offensive game and managed to put the ball down in a variety of ways. Very technical, the pin hitter also did a very good job in her team’s passing system and had some good moments from the service line, scoring aces and getting opponents out of system.

Very long and explosive, she was a tough matchup for anyone trying to stop her at the net as besides making the most of her athletic tools, she also displayed a well-diversified and intelligent offense. Emmerling is also a very technical player and had a big role in the team’s serve-receive system. Playing with great consistency throughout the day, she also had some good serving runs, getting aces and forcing opponents to play out of system.

A Texas State commit, Emmerling will be one the main offensive options in her TAV Houston 17 Adidas team that will compete in the 17 Open division. She’s capable of playing on the left or the right and, in either position, will also help the team with her passing and defense. Emmerling uses her length very well and is very explosive with her offensive approach. She’s the kind of hitter that will bounce balls if the block isn’t ready, but also has all the resources to score in more challenging situations.

She has great length and makes contact with the ball at a very high point, making it very hard for opposing blockers to slow her down. Emmerling likes to hit a quick set at the pin and will hammer the ball straight down if she has the chance, but is also resourceful enough to find other ways to score when the situation calls for it. I don’t think there was a player that bounced more balls than Emmerling on Sunday. Her offense has always been one of her strengths but she seems to be taking it to another level, getting even more athletic and using her length extremely well. Emmerling is a powerful hitter, but also displayed excellent technique to find good spots and impressive consistency. She also did well in the passing and hitting drills, showing a great all-around game.
