About Camila

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a hustler and that I bring good energy every time I step onto the court. Coaches have described me as fast, aggressive, and agile. My teammates have also said that I am a supportive teammate.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I try to not only do my best but to also bring up my team's positivity to give them the right mindset to win. I'm a fast learner and always open to constructive criticism to help me grow.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in my school's Advanced Choir, Valiant Voices. In June of 2024 we competed at he World Choir Olympics and in Auckland, New Zealand. Our Choir took gold in both categories we competed. In June of 2025 we participated in a Choir Festival in Fuzhou and Beijing, China. I am also an Admissions Ambassador where I support with new recruits to my High School.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I consider myself a leader on the court as do my teammates.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a schools where I will learn but also be involved in helping the local community as I prepare for a career in sports medicine.

Amaya was proud of her growth as an out-of-system setter, a skill she has been intentionally developing, and of her team’s collective defensive effort and smart offensive decision-making. She consistently contributes by analyzing opponents and communicating priorities to her teammates, a habit she believes has played a role in her team’s undefeated season so far. Her next focus is continuing to improve serve receive and strengthening on-court communication during live play. Off the court, Amaya is a member of her high school choir and has performed internationally, including in China, as well as recently at LA’s Annual Ethical Leadership Lunch.
