Casey has a lot of tools we like to see as coaches when it comes to our setters. She is an athletic setter who jumps to set the ball, while showing a high IQ to spread the ball to all her hitters when the time calls for it. She isn’t afraid to make any type of set and seems to know who is hot and who has the best match ups to score points. She can set any hitter from any location on the floor, and really can put the ball in great spots regardless of her body position and pass that she gets. Her strength in her hands and arms is really impressive when you watch her play the game.
A aspect about her game that stood out above some other setters was her use of her own offensive game. She had a lot of dumps throughout the showcase and was able to score or keep the defense out of system when she did dump. It just adds another layer to her game and shows her court IQ as she knew the exact moment to use the dump to score. That same IQ really showed up with her set distribution as well, she seemed to know the right hitter to set and when to set them. Casey has a lot of great skills to her game and came out this showcase and showed why she should be a name to know and one of the top setters in the class. We are excited to see what she can do this fall!
