Mia Wells Mia Wells 6'1" | OH/RS Liberty | 2030 State AZ has wasted no time making an impact at Liberty, putting together a strong start to her high school career with the numbers to back it up. As of today, Wells has already recorded 56 kills while hitting .200 from the right side, along with 12 blocks, showing that she can contribute on both sides of the ball.

What makes Wells especially intriguing is her versatility across the front row. While she’s already finding success on the right side, she has the ability to be a legitimate offensive threat from either pin. She attacks with confidence, gives her team another option at the net, and has shown that she can produce even while surrounded by plenty of established talent.

Breaking into an already stacked Liberty lineup as a freshman is impressive on its own, but Wells is doing more than simply finding her way onto the court—she’s producing when she gets there. With her versatility, physicality, and plenty of time left to develop, there is a lot to be excited about with her game. Wells is off to a tremendous start, and we can’t wait to see how she continues to leave her mark throughout school season and beyond.

My youngest pick was Mia, and I got a future star who can contribute now if I need! She played all season on a top open level 15s team as a 14 year old so that really shows how talented she is. She is someone who already can score from multiple spots on the floor and do so at a high clip. She has the length and athletic ability to play both pins, and is athletic enough to do so all the way around. She can contribute with her offense, blocking, and defense depending on the situation, so having someone this versatility was an easy choice.

One thing that really makes this an easy pick was that she plays with confidence and never shy’s away from a good match up. She isn’t intimidated by a block, or isn’t scared to go one on one with a top level pin, she plays well above her age and does so with a ton of talent. I am getting a hitter who the ability to score from multiple locations on the court, makes smart attacking decisions, and mixes shots effectively. She could very well end up leading our team in points in the right scenario, which makes this an easy choice for our team.

Mia is a 6 rotational pin who is already playing well above her age and doing so in dominate fashion. One thing that stands out about Mia is she doesn’t rely on just one shot; she can tool the block, roll to space, and confidently attack high hands in tight situations. Her offensive game isn’t one dimensional and she can take what the defense is giving her and be counted on to score throughout a match. Overall she’s dynamic in transition while being absolutely terminal in-system; showing the ability to score with power, range, and vision which you don’t often see from 8th graders.

On the other side of her game she plays a very good defensive game as well. One perk to being a little taller is she covers ground with long, explosive strides and reads well from the perimeter. She also transitions quickly from defense to offense, often turning digs into immediate scoring opportunities for her teammates. At the net good luck, her timing as a blocker stands out and she presses well over the net. She seals seams effectively, and shows discipline against high-level attackers by timing her jump to meet them at the point of attack.

A versatile pin who can hit from all locations and do so at a high percentage, Mia is a future star in the making and someone who has the talent and potential to continually be at the top of her class for years to come.
