Vollertsen was Garden City’s leading attacker last season. She finished with 340 kills in 85 sets played for the Buffaloes. She is an intriguing prospect whom I have yet to see play in person. She very well could be underanked. Garden City has a talented young roster with multiple ranked players in the Classes of 2028 and 2029. It’s a team I hope to get a chance to scout this summer or fall.

I had to pull out a map to double-check which was furthest south Derby or Garden City. It’s Derby, but Garden City is furthest southwestern location in this report, so Vollertsen should win some type of prize. She is ranked No. 15 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028. She posted an impressive total of 201 kills during her freshman campaign. She is long and has a smooth approach. Schools out in Western Kansas better not sleep on this prospect.
